The First
Stand Tools has done what its peers would typically not dare to do-venture into a foreign territory by trying to develop hand tools that are integrated with nanotechnology, electronic engineering, semiconductor, mechanical and IC design. These efforts and dedication were rewarded with the company’s successful creation of the first universal digital torque wrench.

Semi-Conductor Technology
Taiwan has the best semiconductor technology to produce IC chips and other electronic components. Stand Tools applies this technology to make all electronic parts including the sensor so as to achieve greater accuracy, less cost and a shorter lead time.

IC design

The digital torque wrench utilizes a special IC to calculate data from the sensor. Stand Tools’ unique IC processes complex formulae to measure the torque value, and then show it on the LCD. With this unique IC, anybody can easily read the torque value from the LCD.

Mechanics Technology
Stand Tools can easily analyze a torque diagram, a shear stress diagram, and a pressure diagram with mechanical technology. This information makes Stand Tools design the best mechanical structure for the torque wrench, so making a user of the torque wrench more comfortable and efficient.

TAF-accreditated Torque Calibration LAB
Stand Tools started to build the professional lab in 2008. The lab director and staff are well-trained and follow ISO: 17025, ISO: 6789, local laws, and other articles, as the standard, to perform all experimenting, testing, and calibrating in the lab. Each DG®-II digital torque wrench is inspected, and has a certificate report to maintain the quality. As a tool manufacturer, Stand Tools’ laboratory is the first “Calibration Laboratory” for torque in the industries in Taiwan.

g (Gravity)
Gravity is a force of attraction from Earth, and is a critical parameter while staff makes calibration to torque wrenches and other torque-related items. The gravity in the lab in Stand Tools is measured as 978821.964 (mGal) by National Science Council in Taiwan.



The Gravity Weights
Based on Newton's second law, we understand F=mg. Therefore, gravity multiplied by mass is force (Gravity Weights). According to the principle of mechanics, we have to hang the Gravity Weights to create correct torque (with fixed length) on one side of the beam , not the Mass Weights.


The Beam with Gravity Weights
In order to check the exact torque to the wrench, the beam is designed and widely used by Stand Tools. With Gravity Weights, the staff in the lab can have a stable and reliable force. Hanging them on one side of the beam, staff will see the torque occurred physically, without any electronic displays. Stand Tools is the first one which uses the beam and gravity weights to make calibration to DG®-II series in the industries.

Calibration Machines
There are many calibration machines in Stand Tools’ lab. All of them are designed by Stand Tools based on the basic principles of physics, and are approved by other third-party labs. With repeated and careful testing processes, staff can record the results by computers, and have quality control to each of digital torque wrenches.
